Lincoln MKZ Reviews
US New and World Report's list of Best Cars raves, "As a competent cruiser that focuses on interior fittings,
technology and a comfortable ride, the 2011 MKZ is the right car for a shopper that believes driving is meant to be an effortless, carefree experience."
According to Edmund's, "Exterior styling includes the familial Lincoln waterfall grille and tasteful chrome trim. Body panels are tight fitting, with minimal gaps. The look is stylish and contemporary, with functional and highly visible LED taillamps rounding out the package. The recently redesigned cabin is in line with Lincoln's recent products with high-quality interior materials and a more organic design. Dash and door panels are adorned with genuine wood and available nickel satin accents...the Lincoln MKZ offers an array of standard amenities such as leather upholstery, heated and ventilated power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a sunroof, Sync voice activation, Bluetooth, keyless start, rear back-up sensors and a nine-speaker audio system with six-CD changer, auxiliary jack and satellite radio. Options are largely grouped in packages and include 18-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, adaptive xenon headlights, a voice-activated navigation system with touchscreen, blind-spot warning system, rearview camera and a 14-speaker surround-sound audio system with 10GB of digital music storage."
Wayne Scraba of AutoMedia.com writes, "The MKZ is full-featured (and pretty much leading edge) when it comes to technology. For example, a big part of Lincoln's push forward with the MXZ is centered around technology (standard and optional). As a small example, you'll find that when a sensor in the available Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) detects a vehicle entering your blind spot, an indicator light, positioned in the corner of each corresponding side view mirror, can alert you. Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) uses the sensors from BLIS to alert you of approaching traffic from either side when in Reverse. From an entertainment and communications point of view, our test MKZ incorporated the Lincoln SYNC® voice-activated, in-vehicle, hands-free communication with Bluetooth capability. The available voice-activated navigation system includes continuously updated traffic, sports and weather data by way of the SIRUIS Travel Link™, as well as a premium THX® II certified 5.1 surround sound system with a 12-channel amp, 14 speakers and a 10GB hard drive."
Scraba adds, "One thing we really appreciated with the MKZ was the fact you could more or less (easily) forget about the abundance of technology and simply enjoy the car. On the road, the Lincoln is a taught performer. The car sticks to the pavement, but not in a way that will rattle your fillings. Steering is responsive, but damped. Braking power is strong and easy to modulate. Truthfully, when all is said and done, it'll give some Asian competitors fits on the open highway. There's a hint of engine noise (intake and exhaust) at full bark-and that's good news. It's refreshing to hear the sounds of performance. In cruise mode, though, it's as quiet as any other Lincoln, which is an important footnote, because the folks at Lincoln definitely have a handle on the quiet end of the luxury-car equation. At the end of the day, if you're looking for a capable handler, something that's ultimately comfortable, something that caters to almost all of your whims as you drive, and something that subtly states 'I'm ready for the road' then you owe it to yourself to look at the Lincoln MKZ. It's a car we wouldn't hesitate to use on a cross-county voyage. And that's saying something."
