It has been awhile since the Ford Ranger has rolled off the assembly line. Ford stopped making the compact pickup in 2011, but it will be back for the 2019 model year.

Why is it back? Ford stopped making the compact pickup because they didn’t believe there was that much of a need for it. Now, trucks and SUVs are ever-increasing in popularity, and Ford believes this compact truck could be great for urban people that still like to have a little room for adventure.

Features 2.3-liter EcoBoost Engine Option

There is only one engine option for the 2019 Ford Ranger, but it will give you what you need for power and performance. The engine found in the 2019 Ford Ranger is the 2.3-liter twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. This engine comes with Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission.

Ford has yet to release the exact specifications of the engine’s horsepower and torque, but that is something to be on the lookout for. The 2.3-liter engine that is in the Ford Explorer provides you with 280-horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.

To Come with Built-In WiFi and Alexa Voice Support

The 2019 Ford Ranger will also include some pretty impressive technology. This truck will give you lots of connectivity, safety features and driver assist features. It will include Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

That’s not all though. The 2019 Ford Ranger will also have built-in Wi-Fi and the Ford plus Alexa personal assistant feature. This feature allows you to manage home systems and it gives you navigation.

Will Have FX4 Off-Road Package

If you are ready to have some off-road adventures, you will be happy to find the FX4 off-road package. This package includes upgraded tires, a steel front brush plate, off-road tuned shocks and suspension, reinforced skidplates and standard Trail Control and Hill Descent Control.

You will also get a Terrain Management System with the FX4 Package. This system is based off of the system used in the Ford F-150 Raptor. It will include four driver-select operating modes. These modes are normal, grass/gravel/snow, mud/ruts, and sand. The FX4 will also have a Trail Control feature which will be a low-speed cruise control to be used off-road.
