How Can Tires Help the Children's Auction?

For the entire month of December, the Irwin Automotive Group will donate $1 for each tire sold to benefit the WLNH Children's Auction. The WLNH Children's Auction is an annual, week-long event held in Laconia that connects individuals and businesses from all over New Hampshire with those in need. The is run entirely by a team of volunteers who assist with all aspects of auctioning collecting donations, running the auction, and deciding which charities to support. Because the focus of the Children's Auction is to help the children in New Hampshire, the money rasied by the Children's Auction benefits many local charities including The Boys and Girls Club of the Lakes Region, Citizen Santa Fund, St, Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, Greater Lakes Child Advocacy Center, Lakes Region Daycare, and Lakes Region Child Care Services, just to name a few! The Children's Auction was created in 1982 by WLNH radio host Warren Bailey, and raised $2,100 in its first year. It has grown tremendously from that first year both in terms of money raised and in terms of the number of people involved. From its humble beginnings as a handful of generous people in 1982, the Children's Auction has grown to a team of over 700 volunteers today! In 2007, during the Auction's 25th year, it surpassed the $1 million mark for all money raised since 1982. And it gets bigger every year. To put that in perspective, the Auction raised $416,500 in 2012 alone! The Irwin Automotive Group is proud to support this wonderful endeavor and the many charities that benefit from everyone's generosity. So when you come in this month to buy snow tires, you won't just be getting a good deal, you'll be doing some good for the children of New Hampshire!

Lincoln Continental coming to Laconia New Hampshire

The Lincoln Continental coming to Laconia New Hampshire and will be available for sale at Irwin Lincoln. Lincoln just unveiled the Continental Concept car to an enthusiastic critical reception in New York this weekend. Mark Fields, President and CEO of Ford Motor Company, said that the Continental "signals the future of what we call quiet luxury." Having replaced the split-wing grille with a centerpiece reminiscent of a Bentley, the Continental exudes an air of quiet good taste and an appreciation of quality. The rear of the car features a wide stance for a smooth, confident ride (the Continental is rumored to by rear-wheel drive) and "light through chrome technology" lamps which appear chrome when not illuminated. But it is the interior of this luxury sedan that really shines. The Continental will feature power 30-way seats, tray tables, a champagne storage compartment, and detachable leather travel cases which are handmade from Venetian leather. Venetian leather is also used on the seats and door panels, while the headliner is made of satin and the carpet is made of wool. Lincoln has not revealed the specifics of the motor yet, only saying that it will be a purpose-built EcoBoost engine unique to the Continental. 2015 Ford F-150 Vs 2015 Dodge Ram 1500

Ford's all new 2015 F-150 has made a big splash with its aluminum body panels which have reduced the weight by 700 pounds! The bold new redesign has drawn praise for its stylish grille and attractive body lines, but the true test of any truck is what it can actually do. With that in mind, let's compare the 2015 Ford F-150 to the 2015 Ram 1500, both equipped with V8 engines. The F-150's 5.0L V8 produces 387 lb.-ft. of torque compared to the Ram's 355 lb.-ft. So Ford has a clear advantage in the torque department. In terms of pure horsepower, the F-150 has a slight edge over the Ram, producing 385 horsepower compared to the Ram's 383 horsepower. The F-150 runs laps around the Ram when it comes to maximum payload: at a max payload of 3,300 pounds, the F-150 can handle nearly double the 1,800 pounds that the Ram can manage. How much does it cost to run the thing? 2015 The F-150 is rated at 22 mpg on the highway and 18 mpg combined whereas the Ram can only manage 19 mpg on the highway and 15 mpg combined. This means that the F-150 is 20% more efficient in terms of fuel consumption while delivering better torque, more payload, and more horsepower. What's the price difference, you ask? The F-150 has a starting MSRP of $25,420 compared to $25,410 for the Ram. So for $10, you get an extra 32 lb.-ft. of torque, 2 more horsepower, 20% better fuel economy, and an additional 1,500 pounds of payload capability. That is $10 well spent. If you want a truck that works like a truck, your choice is clear: get an F-150. There is a reason that the Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in America for 38 years and counting: it is the best truck on the market.
