Did your ears perk up when you heard that Ford was bringing back the Bronco? You’re not alone. The Bronco and Bronco Sport have proven to be among America’s most popular new SUVs, and that was before they rolled off the line!

We have some fantastic deals that will put one in your driveway today. But with their outstanding capability, they won’t be in the driveway for long before you’re off on your next adventure.

Which One is Right for You?

Although both SUVs wear the Bronco badge, there are some differences between the Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport. We’ve got some details below to help you get started, but we invite you to schedule a visit to Irwin Ford Lincoln for an in-person walkaround and a test drive.

A New Style Icon

The first difference you’ll notice between the Bronco and Bronco Sport is their body design. Both have head-turning, rugged looks, but the difference in construction gives each one a unique personality.

  • Bronco uses the truck-like body-on-frame construction and larger tires. While these features offer more trail-forging capability, it is less smooth on pavement than its sibling. The Bronco is available as a two- or four-door model with a removable roof and doors.
  • Bronco Sport has the same unibody construction you’ll find in other Ford SUVs. If you want a daily driver with advanced off-road capability, you’ll love the Sport’s smoother ride. Although you can’t remove the doors or roof, the available sunroof, and flip-up rear glass lets you enjoy fresh air and sunshine. The Bronco Sport is available only as a four-door.

The End of the Road is Where the Fun Begins

Both models have standard full-time 4x4 capability with several available GOAT (Goes Over Any Terrain) Modes and water fording ability. The Bronco will handle more punishing off-road conditions compared to the Sport.

  • Bronco has 11.6 inches of ground clearance and off-road-specific shocks for exceptional rock-crawling and water fording capability. When the objective is to get as far off the grid as possible, the Bronco will get you there.
  • Bronco Sport is no slouch when it comes to off-roading. It clears 8.8 inches off the ground and includes Ford’s High-Performance, Off-Road, Stability, Suspension system (AKA - HOSS). The Sport’s capability will let you find your new favorite secluded camping spot.

Your Beasts of Burden

You may be crawling up the side of a mountain or merging onto the freeway: the Bronco Sport and Bronco deliver raw horsepower and torque to get you everywhere you want to go.

  • Bronco offers two turbocharged powertrains. The 2.3L EcoBoost teams up with a seven-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission to kick up 270-horsepower with 310 pound-feet of torque. For extra muscle, a 2.7L EcoBoost V6 is available but requires the 10-speed automatic transmission.
  • Bronco Sport also has two robust engine options that work with the eight-speed automatic transmission. A 1.5L turbocharged EcoBoost makes 181 pound-feet of torque with 270 horsepower and gets an impressive 31 highway MPG. For more off-road power, try the 310-horsepower 2.0L turbo EcoBoost. This engine cranks 245 pound-feet of torque so you can hit the trails without compromising fuel economy.

The Most Versatile Vehicle You’ll Own

Built more for daily use, the Bronco Sport has a few more cubic feet in the cargo area than its sibling. Both models offer aftermarket accessories for storage, giving you multiple ways to accommodate cargo and passengers. So, bring your friends—and their stuff—along on your next adventure!

  • Bronco can tow up to 3,500 pounds, if you decide to leave the roof at home. Inside, the Bronco holds 23.6 cubes behind the back seat, or take advantage of the split-fold configuration to carry up to 52.3 cubic feet of gear. Remove the roof, and you can carry surfboards and other long items upright.
  • Bronco Sport has room for over 29 cubic feet of bags, sports gear, and refreshments. Under-seat storage in the back row gives you a secure place to stash smaller items and valuables. And the fold-flat second-row and high roofline give you the option to carry trail bikes upright INSIDE the Bronco Sport instead of mounting them on the roof.
