2019 Ford Expedition Trim Comparison

2019 Ford Expedition Trim Comparison

The 2019 Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV that can give you the performance and versatility you are looking for.

The Expedition has gone through some changes and updates for 2019. First, Ford updated the engine. The 2019 Expedition is home to a 3.5-liter turbo V6 engine that has seen some upgrades. On the XLT and Limited you will get a 375-horsepower engine, on the Platinum that same engine jumps up to 400-horsepower.

The 2019 Expedition is also 300 pounds lighter than the 2017 version, and this allows it to be more capable and versatile. The 2019 Expedition has a towing capacity of 9,300 pounds, so it is ready to take on your life.

This vehicle is a great SUV option for you. It has three different trim options below, and each of these trim options also allow you to upgrade to the Expedition MAX body style. Check out each of these trims and the features below to help you decide which 2019 Expedition option is the one for you.

XLT & XLT MAX

The 2019 Ford Expedition base trim is the XLT. This SUV trim starts at a price of $51,695. The standard features that come with the XLT are satellite radio, four USB ports, a nine-speaker audio system and the SYNC infotainment system with Bluetooth and voice recognition. For added safety, you also get a rearview camera and rear parking sensors standard on the XLT.

As stated above, if you would like to, you can upgrade to the XLT Expedition MAX body style. This is a long-wheelbase body style and it will cost you an extra $2,700.

The XLT offers you some pretty good standard features. This can allow you to get the base model at an affordable price and still have the technology features you are looking for.

Limited & Limited MAX

Your next trim option is the Limited trim. The 2019 Ford Expedition Limited starts off at a price of $62,585. This trim gives you all of the features on the XLT, but it adds features like a hands-free power liftgate, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats and heated second-row seats for added comfort.

You also get added safety and technology with standard features like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, the upgraded SYNC 3 infotainment system and a 12-speaker audio system. Also, as with the XLT, the Limited MAX allows you to get a longer Expedition for a price of $2,700.

As you can see, from the XLT to the Limited is a step up in price. However, you also get a significant step up in the features that come standard. Just the safety and technology features alone provide a lot for you, but the Limited also adds comfort features like heated seats and a heated steering wheel.

Platinum & Platinum MAX

The highest available trim option for the 2019 Expedition is the Platinum trim. This trim starts off at a price of $72,710. This vehicle gives you increased power and more standard features than the other trims.

The 2019 Platinum gives you the same twin-turbocharged V6 engine as the other trims, but this engine has been upgraded to provide you with 400-horsepower.

As for standard features in the 2019 Expedition Platinum, you get a Panoramic Vista Roof, a satin aluminum roof-rack side rails and a power-deployable running board. You also get wood accents, a Wollsdorf leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather door trim.

For an additional $2,700, you can get the longer Platinum MAX. This will give you an extra 16.9 cubic feet of cargo space to store whatever you need.

The Platinum trim takes luxury to the next level with a variety of luxury touches including a Panoramic Vista Roof that has power open and close to help you bring a bit of the outdoors in. The Platinum is a good option for you if you are looking for that extra luxury.

Which is Right for You?

The XLT, the Limited and the Platinum are three great trim options. Also, for each of these trims the MAX option is available to give you even more space in the 2019 Expedition. Which trim is best for you? That depends on which features are most important to you.

The base level trim the XLT is a great option because even though it is the base level it offers a lot of great standard features. Many people would be happy with getting the base level for $51,695 and saving some money. That is because the base trim offers you features like a rearview camera, SYNC infotainment system with Bluetooth and voice recognition and four USB ports. This is a great option for you if you are looking for a lower price, but still a very competent vehicle.

Your next trim option is the Limited. This trim will cost you $62,585, but it adds feature like heated front and second row seats as well as the upgraded SYNC 3 infotainment system. This is a great option if you want added technology and comfort, but you don’t need the extra power and performance the Platinum provides.

If you are looking for the best in luxury and power, the 2019 Expedition Platinum is for you. This trim offers an upgraded engine that gives you 400-horsepower and a lot of other luxury features. Some of these other features including the Panoramic Vista Roof, wood accents and a Wollsdorf leather-wrapped steering wheel. This vehicle costs the most at $72,710, but it is well-worth the money with all the added features it provides.

Something else to keep in mind with the 2019 Expedition is the MAX trim options. For the XLT, Limited and Platinum you can get the MAX option and add length and cargo space to your vehicle. This is a great option if you are planning on taking trips with a lot of people and cargo.
