2019 Ford Mustang NH

In case there wasn’t enough to already love about the classic Ford Mustang, this pony car just picked up some serious enhancements in recent model years. Sure, in a segment rife with stiff competition - like the Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger - the Mustang has plenty to prove.

But, prove it, it does and has done for more than fifty years as the #1 sports car on the market. For those drivers ready to pilot an American legacy, newly refined for cutting-edge capability, the 2019 Ford Mustang in NH delivers. After all, as Ford claims, “We all drive, some of us roar.”

Whether you roar while riding solo or want to bring along a co-pilot and a few friends, the Mustang can accommodate four passengers and comes in either a coupe (fastback) or convertible model. Obviously, geographic location is a deciding factor between these two body options - but even those in colder climes might be enticed by the dream of summer driving with the top down.

Between its new model year refinements, choice of four compelling trims, and just unmistakable head-turning style, the Mustang leaves the rest of the ponies behind. When you’re ready to lead the herd, saddle up this new Mustang and harness an American automotive legacy.

Performance

Naturally, the first thing anyone even remotely interested in a Ford Mustang or other pony car wants to learn about is performance. Just how fast can this baby go? Well, that all depends on your engine preference. The 2010 Mustang can be equipped with a four-cylinder EcoBoost 2.3-liter engine, able to generate 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.

For more of the muscle expected from this iconic American automobile, check out the 5.0-liter V8 equipping the GT models, backed by 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. This is actually the fastest V8-powered Mustang seen on today’s highways and byways - not for the faint of heart.

Performance testing saw the 2019 Ford Mustang GT fly from zero to sixty mph just shy of four seconds. Stop times were measured at a distance of 106 feet.

Note: Ford dropped the V6 engine from the Mustang’s performance options starting with last year's model updates. However, as part of its “design evolution,” Ford introduced a brand new 10-speed automatic transmission as an option for both brand-new and longtime Mustang fans. Ford is touting this development as “The Best Automatic in Any Mustang Ever.”

Trim Level Overview

Prospective drivers of the 2019 Ford Mustang have four primary trim levels to choose from - the EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, and GT Premium. Special edition models, such as the Bullitt, GT350, and upcoming GT500 are covered elsewhere. Below are the core model trim levels, which are available in higher quantities at most Ford dealers in New Hampshire.

EcoBoost

Kicking things off, the EcoBoost represents this year’s base model Mustang. Equipped with that turbocharged four-cylinder, the EcoBoost features standard operation from its six-speed manual transmission, with the new 10-speed automatic available as an option.

Other racing-inspired equipment found in the EcoBoost includes the track-ready electronic line-lock, designed for blistering burnouts, a limited-slip rear differential, and launch control - exclusive to the manual setup. Other details designed for ride comfort include manual seats, cloth interior, automatic-dimming rearview mirror, 17-inch wheels, keyless ignition and entry, along with connectivity and infotainment enhancements like Bluetooth, six-speaker sound system, two USB ports, and a 4.2-inch display.

Available on both this EcoBoost model, as well as the GT model, drivers can opt for the Performance Package, which features boosted brakes, a shortened differential ratio, a bigger stabilizer bar in back, stiffer springs in front, summer tires wrapped around 19-inch wheels, and the accessibility for MagneRide adaptive suspension dampers - which was introduced last model year.

EcoBoost Premium

Taking all that’s offered by the EcoBoost, the EcoBoost Premium variant affords power seats up front, leather interior, nine-speaker sound system, a larger touchscreen - now 8 inches - dual-zone automatic climate control, and 18-inch wheels, in addition to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities.

GT

When it comes to that roar, yours can be a little more ferocious in the Mustang GT. Starting with the enhanced 5.0-liter V8, which now features direct port injection and other revisions, you’ll also take advantage of a reimagined six-speed manual transmission, although the 10-speed automatic remains an option.

GT Premium

Blending the best of the GT with the bells and whistles of the EcoBoost Premium results in the Premium version of the GT.

Of course, there are plenty of stand-alone options to consider, such as a heated steering wheel, Recaro sport seats up front, a navigation system, and a digital gauge cluster. Not to mention a host of packages created to sharpen the style of both the Mustang’s interior and exterior. Speaking of style…

Interior, Exterior, and Safety

As if choosing an engine, body, or trim level wasn’t enough, Ford jazzed up the exterior of the 2019 Ford Mustang with a stunning spectrum of shades including: Oxford White, Ingot Silver, Magnetic, Shadow Black, Royal Crimson, Orange Fury, Ruby Red, Race Red, Triple Yellow, Lightning Blue, and Kona Blue. Word to the wise, Orange Fury is considered the 2019 Ford Mustang’s signature color…

In an effort to enhance the Mustang’s aerodynamics, Ford lowered the car’s hood. Combining this aggressive stance with the car’s narrower grille and slimmer headlight clusters, this year’s

Mustang looks more ready for action than ever before, whether on or off the racetrack.

Ford also upped its illumination game, by equipping the Mustang with LED lighting - standard on both the headlights and taillights. LED fog lights are also available.

The Mustang features interior stylings that combine the latest with legacy. Some classic muscle car details complement the newly revised and fully customizable digital gauge. Whether heading out for a Saturday tee-time or a full weekend getaway, the Mustang is roomier than its counterparts, offering a total of 13.5 cubic space of room in the trunk.

Although the 2019 Ford Mustang has not yet been evaluated by federal safety standards, given this year’s safety enhancements, Ford expects the car to do just fine. Now offering lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, distance alert, and Pre-Collision Assist, which provides both forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, the Mustang should handle all safety assessments like a pro. In fact, industry experts predict that the 2019 Mustang will meet, if not best last year’s model, which scored a perfect 5-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
